Kyal Thornton's path to design excellence is as diverse as it is impressive. Before embarking on his Building Design journey, Kyal spent over eight years as a chef on the Gold Coast, honing his attention to detail and creativity in a fast-paced environment. From 2007 to 2014, he co-owned a thriving coffee shop with over 12 staff members, gaining valuable experience in business management and customer service.
Kyal's formal building design education began in 2001, culminating in 2002 with him finishing at the top of his class. His early career was marked by work with some of Australia's top design firms, where he developed a keen eye for design and innovation. Further honing his expertise, Kyal served as a Design Manager for one of Australia's largest property developers for two years, overseeing high-profile projects and refining his leadership skills.
In 2018, driven by a passion for bespoke design and personalised service, Kyal founded Kyal Thornton Building Designs. Our firm has since become synonymous with high-end custom homes, exceptional renovations, and stunning extensions. Kyal’s tenure as the Vice Club Captain for Tallebudgera Surf Lifesaving Club from 2022 to March 2024 further demonstrates his commitment to community and leadership.
